Dear Future Builder,
You already know you're not meant to simply clock in and clock out.
There's something in you that wants to build. Maybe it's a business. Maybe it's a ministry, a church, a nonprofit, or an organization that serves people in a way you care deeply about. Whatever form it takes, the desire underneath it is the same. You want to create something that didn't exist before. Something you can lead, shape, and grow over time. You want your life to matter.
But there's often another voice that shows up alongside that desire. A quieter one that asks questions you don't always say out loud.
What if I'm completely off? What if I don't actually have what this takes? What if I try and it doesn't work?
My name is Kris, and I know that internal conversation well because I've had it more than once.
I had it when I started my first ministry. I believed in the mission, but there were plenty of moments where I questioned whether I was the right person to lead it.
I had it again when I planted my first church. People were trusting me with their time, their energy, and their faith. There were nights I lay awake asking myself: Am I really prepared for this, or am I about to find out I'm not?
And it showed up again when I launched my first business. You would think that after building a ministry and planting a church the doubt would disappear. It didn't.
And yet every time I moved forward anyway, I found that most of my fears were monsters of my own making.
- The ministry grew and expanded.
- The church exploded and thrived.
- The business developed and flourished in a way that allowed me to support my family while continuing the work I'm called to do.
Here's what I've realized. Doubt doesn't mean you're unqualified. Most of the time it simply means you're doing something that's really important to you. That's why so many capable people hesitate. It's not because they don't care or lack ability. It's because they understand that starting something new carries responsibility and risk.
What helped me move forward each time wasn't pretending the doubt wasn't there. It was learning how to build with structure and direction instead of letting uncertainty keep the idea stuck in my head.
That's exactly why I created The Builder's Lab. Simply put, it's the experience I wish I had when I started.
Let's get to work.
